HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Good news – the Huntsville Fire Department has rescued an injured hiker in woods along Toll Gate Road on Monte Sano.

They rescued the hiker and his companion just before 11:30 a.m.  Crews were called to rescue the injured hiker a little after 10 a.m.

Fire trucks are stationed near Fagan Springs Apartments, off Toll Gate Road near Bankhead Parkway.

A father and daughter were hiking together, and the father sustained a minor leg injury and couldn’t walk out of the woods.  The daughter is not hurt.
