FAIRFIELD, AL (WHNT) – 

UPDATE: Amber Alert cancelled around 1:30 am on Sunday, August 31, child has been found safe.

WHNT NEWS 19’s news partners, AL.com, report the boy was found unharmed at his grandmother’s house in Prichard which is in Mobile County. The boy was taken into protective custody as authorities investigate.

Here’s the background information leading to the alert:

Fairfield Police Chief Leon Davis Jr. says 9-year-old Felix Rhashud was taken from his residence by his grandmother Saturday at approximately 6:30 p.m.

An amber alert was issued.

The boy was believed to be in extreme danger.

Rhashud Felix was abducted by a female believed to be Tanja Felix.

Tanja Felix, 53, was thought to be traveling in a maroon-colored 2008 Lincoln MKX, Alabama tag number 82PJ1,

Police reported they may be in route to 4915 Golfway Drive in Mobile, Alabama.
